The annual Denstone Show was held on 8th September 2012 and (amazingly!) the weather was sunny and kind.
Events began with the Fun Dog Show, organised by Denstone Youth Fund, and a great time was had by all. Abbeyfields vets once again kindly supported the dog show and were in attendance to participate and to hand out information, treats (and treatment, if required!) In addition to various classes, including the “judge’s favourite” and “the waggiest tail” there was a demonstration of doggy obedience by Hooligan Hounds.
Dogs and their owners were not the only ones vying for success. In the “Human Show” adults and children alike submitted their creative efforts for judgement in a variety of classes ranging from arts, crafts, needlework and spinning to baked products, jams, flowers and vegetables. “Denstone Village Show a huge success!”
The above was the headline in the Uttoxeter and Cheadle Voice (Issue 32) – see the colourful page of pictures below.
The article read:
“Beautiful sunny weather attracted the crowds to Denstone Village Show! The weekend event proved a tremendous success with over 500 exhibits covering horticultural, cookery and craft classes.
Step2Dance troupe Karizma Krew entertained the crowds along with a wide variety of sideshows and stalls.
Mark Titterton’s hunting birds attracted much attention during the show along with a very successful dog show.”
